Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and positive patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing check-in and check-out procedures efficiently. Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix. Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; coordinate with providers to optimize daily clinic flow. Collect and review medical documentation, including intake forms, medical histories, and consent forms; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and directing calls appropriately. Maintain accurate patient records by filing documents electronically in EMR systems s; update medical records regularly. Assist with billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and supporting medical collection efforts when necessary. Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, typing reports, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk organized and efficient. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient intake processes and ensure timely documentation review. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and familiarity with office management software. Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in compliance with HIPAA standards. Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
