Duties Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using dental office management software open dental Schedule appointments accurately while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations, and handle billing inquiries using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Meditech Maintain organized medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with patient intake processes, including gathering medical history and updating EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly Handle phone etiquette professionally while providing exceptional customer service to patients and visitors Skills Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong clinic experience and familiarity with dental terminology Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing procedures Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately using Medicare or other insurance portals; understanding of care plans and documentation review processes Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per second; familiarity with health information management practices Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, medical records management, and office management tasks Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional phone etiquette combined with outstanding patient service skills; ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times Join us in creating a positive environment where patients feel cared for from the moment they walk through our doors!
