In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate patient scheduling, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures. Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage, conduct insurance eligibility checks, and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes. Handle medical billing and collections efficiently, including processing payments and following up on outstanding accounts. Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) like Power Chart documentation for accuracy and completeness. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages. Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies, and review documentation for accuracy. Assist with clinical administrative support tasks such as CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review to support accurate billing and recordkeeping. Support office management duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing office supplies to keep the clinic running smoothly. Collaborate with healthcare providers on care plans by providing accurate patient information and supporting clinical workflows. Qualifications Proven experience at least 2 years in a medical office environment or healthcare setting, preferably with clinic . Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such Cerner/Power Chart is a plus. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication tasks. Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare procedures, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing practices. Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Exceptional customer service skills coupled with effective phone communication and multi-line phone system operation. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and office management experience preferred. Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards is essential. Prior experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner/Power Chart will be considered an advantage.
