About the role We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients as they check-out providing exceptional customer service, collecting co-pays, co-insurance and scheduling any follow-up appointments, while managing various administrative tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. What you'll do Greet patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner. Manage appointment scheduling, including confirming and rescheduling as necessary, collecting co-pays, co-insurance payments, and balancing daily reports. Perform insurance verification to ensure coverage for services rendered. Maintain accurate medical records and patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Assist with medical billing and collections, addressing any patient inquiries regarding their accounts, and assist with missing tickets. Utilize Athena software for managing patient information and office tasks efficiently. Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Proficiency in medical billing and collections processes is highly desirable. Familiarity with Athena or similar practice management software is an advantage. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and files. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Knowledge of insurance verification processes is essential.
