Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical office procedures, EclinicalWorks-EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and patient communication will help streamline clinic operations and enhance patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a busy healthcare setting where efficiency, professionalism, and compassionate service are paramount. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and clear directions within the clinic. Schedule appointments efficiently using EclinicalWorks (ECW) scheduling software. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including data entry into EMR systems like EclinicalWorks. Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and follow-up needs. Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy. Support administrative functions such as data entry, filing, faxing, copying, and managing multi-line phone systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions. Skills Eclinicalworks EMR experience required Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Exceptional organizational skills with experience in medical office and front desk operations. Bilingual abilities are required to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Prior clinic experience is highly desirable to understand workflow and patient care processes. Effective communication skills with a focus on patient service and phone etiquette. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards. Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare or private insurers is preferred. Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and documentation review.
