Job description: Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and office management practices, as well as the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA standards. Answer phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary. Utilize medical coding and terminology to assist with billing processes. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or similar environment is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in using office equipment and software relevant to medical office management. Experience as a medical receptionist is preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
