Full-time Job Summary:

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Cardiac Medical Receptionist to join our busy cardiology practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, managing front desk operations, and supporting clinical staff with administrative duties. Experience with athenahealth EMR is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Check patients in and out accurately using athenahealth EMR system Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and direct calls appropriately Verify insurance information, collect copays, and update patient demographics Manage provider schedules and coordinate follow-up appointments Scan, upload, and maintain patient records in the EMR system Process referrals, authorizations, and incoming/outgoing faxes Assist patients with forms, portal access, and general questions Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Keep front desk and waiting area organized and professional Work collaboratively with medical assistants, nurses, and providers to ensure smooth patient flow

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Previous medical receptionist or healthcare front desk experience preferred Experience in cardiology or specialty practice preferred Knowledge of athenahealth EMR preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of insurance verification and copay collection Proficient in computer systems, phone systems, and office equipment

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with medical terminology, especially cardiology terminology Experience handling high patient volume Strong customer service mindset with compassionate patient care
