Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate medical records, and providing exceptional administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records Assist with intake procedures by collecting patient information, updating medical histories, and reviewing documentation for completeness. Support medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and Medicare requirements to ensure proper documentation review and submission. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to keep the front desk organized and efficient. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions and documentation review. Collaborate with clinical staff to support care plans and coordinate patient flow within the clinic setting. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinic or healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; bilingual abilities are a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines is highly desirable. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and office management tasks.
