Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and others Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage appointment calendars Collect and review medical documentation including intake forms, care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 for accurate billing and recordkeeping Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handle patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately Assist with medical billing and collection efforts by processing payments and following up on outstanding balances when necessary Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines for documentation review and billing purposes Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key), and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations with high attention to detail Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is advantageous Strong organizational skills to manage appointment scheduling, filing systems, medical records management, and office workflows efficiently Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate support to patients while ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility!
