  • Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our fast-paced urgent care team.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring efficient front office operations. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, thrives in a busy environment, has excellent communication skills, and can multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Duties Verify insurance eligibility Manage appointment scheduling Register walk-in patients quickly and accurately Efficiently utilize an EMR to register patients, cross-reference information and maintain proper billing and coding procesees Prepare and review medical documentation, including care plans, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Support clinic operations by managing patient intake forms and coordinating with providers for efficient clinic management. Collect co-pays and self-pay balances Scan IDs and insurance cards Process medical records requests Fax referrals and records Answer high-volume phones Communicate with providers and MAs Handle occasional upset patients professionally Maintain front lobby appearance Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of medical receptionist or healthcare customer service experience preferred Experience verifying medical insurance benefits preferred Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong computer proficiency Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Professional appearance and demeanor Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends What we are looking for We are looking for someone who: Enjoys interacting with patients and providing exceptional customer service. Remains calm and professional during busy clinic hours. Is dependable, punctual, and takes initiative. Learns new systems quickly. Works well with both clinical and administrative staff. Has a positive attitude and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
