- Obtaining Prior Authorizations for surgery and procedures and maintain all correspondence in Athena
- Schedule surgeries and procedures at the hospitals and maintain physicians schedules
- Assist in obtaining referrals and authorizations for tests being done outside the office
- Greet patients upon arrival with a friendly demeanor and helpful attitude
- Answer all preliminary non-medical questions from patients
- Determine method of payment and insurance eligibility of patients prior to treatment
- Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities
- Assist in the training of new staff members as directed by manager
- Efficient and accurate handling of payments
- Inform patients of insurance information, such as co pays and required referrals
- Collect payments and issue receipts
- Maintains a clean work environment
- Respects and supports patient's rights and treats all patients with dignity and compassion
- Practices and promotes positive customer and peer relations
- Functions as an interdependent and supportive team member
- Assists in maintaining a positive learning environment
- Consistently arrives on time
- Able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person
- Able to perform duties in stressful situations
- Will abide to all policies outlined in the employee handbook
- Maintain security of medical records and patients health information according to HIPAA standards
- Some occasional travel to our satellite locations is required.
