Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Business Associate Dental, where you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our dental practice. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your medical administrative expertise, dental terminology knowledge, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless patient experiences and accurate documentation. You will be at the forefront of patient interactions, insurance processing, and clinic management, contributing to the delivery of exceptional dental care. Responsibilities Manage patient intake and registration processes, including verifying insurance coverage and updating medical records using systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Meditech Perform insurance verification and authorization procedures, ensuring accurate billing and coding with
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and dental terminology Handle medical collection efforts and follow-up on outstanding balances with Medicare and other insurers Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Assist with appointment scheduling using EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks, maintaining efficient front desk operations Provide excellent patient service by answering multi-line phone systems, managing patient inquiries with professional phone etiquette, and supporting patient care plans Maintain organized medical records and filing systems while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD, CPT), and billing procedures within a clinical setting Proficiency in EMR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, and medical collection efforts Familiarity with health information management standards and HIPAA compliance practices Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; typing skills including 10-key typing for data entry Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Prior clinic or dental office experience with front desk duties such as scheduling, intake, medical administrative support, and office management This role offers an engaging environment where your expertise directly impacts patient care quality while providing opportunities for professional growth.
