We are a high-volume practice with an excellent team of dedicated professionals whose purpose is to provide the very best medical care to the patients we serve. We are seeking a full-time experienced, highly organized Surgery Scheduler. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for administrative coordination within a physician team. The ability to multi-task is critical for success in the role. The Surgery Scheduler should be efficient and well-spoken with experience running a medical office. If you are patient, organized, computer-savvy, and can multitask, we'd like to meet you.
What you will do:
  • Receive and assist patients as needed. Acting as a point of contact between patients, surgeons, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care
  • As needed verify insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorization for procedures, and communicating with insurance companies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, consent forms, and insurance information. Manage office communications (e.g. phone, correspondence)
  • Scheduling consultations, surgeries, update schedule accordingly and follow-up appointments, ensuring all necessary staff and equipment are available. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Prepare and provide patients with surgery packets information about procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care, as well as addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Handling phone calls, emails, and other administrative duties.
Act as a point of contact between patients, surgeons, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care
Experience Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a surgery scheduler, medical secretary or similar administrative position
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, regulations and medical office procedures; knowledge of medical coding is strongly desired
  • Knowledge and familiarity of MS Office, databases, and EHR systems
  • Outstanding communication skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
