Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This dynamic role combines front-office administrative duties with essential medical billing responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate reimbursement processes. You will be the first point of contact for patients and providers, managing appointments, answering inquiries, and handling billing procedures with precision. Your energetic approach will contribute to a positive patient experience while maintaining compliance with medical coding standards and billing protocols. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments efficiently to optimize clinic flow. Collect patient demographic data and update medical records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Answer incoming calls promptly, address patient inquiries, and provide clear guidance on appointment scheduling or billing questions. Process medical claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, ensuring proper documentation for procedures and diagnoses. Review and submit claims for reimbursement, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and perform medical collections as needed to maximize revenue. Maintain meticulous records of medical billing activities, insurance correspondence, and patient interactions to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for inpatient services. Requirements Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing roles with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding standards such as
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
classifications, and ICD coding. Ability to perform detailed medical coding accurately for procedures and diagnoses to facilitate proper billing and reimbursement processes. Experience in medical collections and understanding of insurance claim submission procedures. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with medical billing software and proficiency in navigating EMR/EHR platforms is highly preferred.
