Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and insurance verification. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing with systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly. Handle billing procedures including medical collection processes, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare documentation review. Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical records, and office documents while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with intake procedures for new patients and coordinate appointment follow-ups to optimize clinic flow. Support office management tasks such as verifying insurance benefits, updating care plans, and managing medical administrative support functions. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and health information management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems like Athenahealth is a plus. Proficiency in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and Medicare documentation processes. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle patient intake smoothly and maintain professional phone etiquette. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; strong clerical experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to review documentation thoroughly and manage medical records accurately in a fast-paced environment.
