Job Description

Steinhauer Family Eye Clinic is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team. Our thriving Optometry practice is looking for a professional who understands the importance of providing compassionate service to our patients. Experience in a medical office is preferred. Must be able to multi-task as needed.
Duties include:
  • Answer multi-line phones and either handle the caller's needs or direct the caller to the appropriate resource within the practice.
  • Greet patients upon arrival and obtain demographic and insurance information to register the patient with the practice.
  • Provide patients with intake and new patient forms, as well as copies of legally required documents and practice policy documents.
  • Process payments from patients for co-pays, deductibles, and account balance payments.
  • Schedule appointments for new and established patients.
  • Prep charts for next day appointments and make reminder phone calls for future appointments for each doctor.
  • Manage and keep front desk area organized and clean.
  • Willing to learn the skills/tasks of other areas within the practice.
Ability to multi-task, excellent customer service, time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are all qualities we are seeking in our future employee. Optical field experience is preferred, but not required.
Additional duties may include:
  • Pre-screening patients
  • Visual field/OCT testing
  • Retinal photography
  • Dispensing of glasses Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick time based on hours worked.
401K and other benefits will be discussed at interview. Hourly wage negotiable based on experience.
