Job Purpose Responsible for documenting accurate and detailed information of patient visits. The ideal candidate will provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage the volume of work without allowing quality to be compromised. This role will require excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding the spirit of ACCESS by handling all necessary tasks that require attention. Duties and Responsibilities Accompany the veterinarian during patient visits to assist in documenting the veterinarian's assessment and exam Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, diagnostic test results, and treatments in real-time Organize and maintain patient medical records in a secure and confidential manner Collaborate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure that all necessary information is accurately recorded Interact with your veterinarian to capture accurate diagnoses, pharmacy prescriptions and patient follow-up instructions Manage electronic medical records and ensure timely completion of documentation Follow up on past history and test results on patients which are critical in driving medical decisions by your veterinarian Understand the flow of patient encounters in our facility to assist the care team in making patient visits as efficient as possible. Follow the progress of labs, imaging studies, and other patient data Perform a variety of other non-clinical tasks dependent on your veterinarian's requests Understand how to work with financial team to properly audit patient treatment plans for daily owner financial updates and present new estimates when necessary Maintain a clean and professional working environment Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Qualifications Previous experience as a medical scribe, veterinary assistant, or equivalent preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures preferred Bilingual is a plus Proficient in the use of electronic medical record systems Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends You should exemplify our guiding principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service.
