Job Description

Responsible for filing a birth certificate on all live births and fetal death certificates within the Health System. Responsible for reviewing and administering paternity acknowledgments in appropriate situations. Responsible for the statistical tabulation of vital statistics as required by regulatory agencies.
Essential Responsibilities:
This description of job responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time. Accurately enters the birth and fetal death information for the Health System into the Electronic Birth Certificate Software. Accurately abstracts medical information and history from patient's medical records for vital statistics Conducts timely submission of vital statistic information to the Department of Health and Human Services for processing. Responsible for the monthly statistical tabulation of vital statistics as required by regulatory agencies. Interacts with Medical Staff members and Maternity Team Members at the Brunswick and Camden campuses regarding the statistical information documented in the medical record. Conducts parent interviews for the timely and accurate completion of the birth/death certificate and the paternity acknowledgement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma Experience 3- 5 years Health Care Experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Computer skills, written and oral communication skills.
