    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or equivalent education. No prior experience is required. On-the-job training is provided. Typing speed of 35 wpm. Previous clerical experience, advanced typing skills and medical terminology helpful.
    JOB KNOWLEDGE
    Previous electronic medical record system preferred but not required.
    ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS
    Communication skills are required to read and understand medical terminology, to read and understand written reports, and to abstract pertinent information from records. Numerical ability is required to compile, interpret, and utilize statistical data. Clerical perception is required to spot pertinent detail in material and to avoid error in computation. A preference for routine, concrete, organized work, which is carried out in relation to set processes and techniques is necessary. Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
