Part-Time Transcriptionist Do you have a commitment to protecting our national security and enshrining governmental integrity? Do you want to contribute to the government's efforts documenting legally binding conversations? Then apply now to be a part-time transcriptionist on a variety of Federal transcription contracts, including but not limited to the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Naval Postgraduate School's Office of the Inspector General (NPS OIG). Although this work can be intermittent, your efforts will support a critical role in the Federal investigation and interview process--and the decisions made after these conversations. Work Schedule and Location:
Remote:
This part-time, remote position will work based on the volume of transcription requests received, but averages 25-50 hours per month. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM Eastern Time. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with other transcriptionists to prepare, conduct, and quality check transcriptions Proficiency in following style guidance and applying standard commercial transcription practices Ensuring on-time delivery of transcription cases/files Checking in for new transcriptions daily and communicating progress on transcriptions
Qualifications Required:
Ability to pass a Background Check Fluent in English with strong proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation Expert skills in Microsoft Office and MS365 for Web; particularly Excel, Windows Media Player or ClipChamp, and Word Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to type at least 60 words per minute Familiarity with legal terminology and legal citation At least 2 years' transcription experience
High School Diploma or GED Desired:
