Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant and Scribe specializing in Cardiology to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist cardiology providers and accurately document medical encounters. Your expertise will help streamline clinic operations, enhance patient experiences, and support comprehensive cardiovascular care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on medical assisting with real-time documentation, ensuring efficient and high-quality patient interactions. A passion for cardiology, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to patient service are essential for success in this energetic role. Duties Assist cardiology providers during patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments in the office Accurately document patient encounters, including history, physical exam findings, and treatment plans using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation levels Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort while maintaining a professional demeanor Manage medical records and ensure proper documentation of all clinical activities in compliance with healthcare regulations Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient intake forms Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology relevant to cardiology treatments and medications administered or prescribed Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently to update patient information, document encounters, and facilitate communication among healthcare providers Assist the medical receptionist with check in and out Send out medical records requests Assist with scanning medical documents into the patient record Answer office phones professionally and address patient questions or requests Experience Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program is required Prior experience working in a cardiology or specialty clinic strongly preferred; experience in hospital medicine or urgent care settings is advantageous Demonstrated proficiency with Eclinicalworks Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology essential for accurate documentation and billing Knowledge of obtaining insurance verifications, obtaining auths for procedures and scheduling hospital procedures a bonus Join us at our small private cardiology practice in delivering compassionate cardiovascular care through your expertise!
