Job Description:
Under general supervision, Medication Technician performs and/or supervises delivery of health services for all residents; directs and manages staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.- Assess health and safety needs of residents; oversees medical care (medications/treatments)
- Assist with family contact when medical issue is involved
- Provide assessment input about residents to the Clinical Services Director
- Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers
- Perform other related essential duties as required
Minimum Training and Experience:
A high school diploma, vocation/technical training, at least 3 years of experience preferably in a geriatric setting or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.Certification and Clearance Requirements:
- Requires First Aid certification
- Must receive criminal records clearance
- Must have health screening and TB/CXR clearance Knowledge and Abilities Required To Perform Essential Job Functions Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate and use a variety of health care equipment
- Ability to utilize a variety of clerical, medical and computer supplies
- Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of resident to position or transport them
- Ability to perceive and discriminate colors, sounds, textures, odors and forms Language and Interpersonal Communication
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
