Overview We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Medication Technician to join our compassionate healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medication administration, patient care, and medical documentation within senior living or healthcare settings. This role involves administering medications accurately, monitoring residents' health status, and supporting overall wellness initiatives to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality of life for our residents. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor residents' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to medication treatments, documenting all observations accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of pharmaceuticals. Support residents with activities related to assisted living, memory care, Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and other specialized senior care needs. Maintain thorough medical records and documentation of medication administration, adhering to medical terminology standards and legal requirements. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans that include medication management strategies. Educate residents and their families about medication routines, side effects, and safety precautions to promote informed participation in their care. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medication Technician or similar role within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex health conditions including Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Certification as a Medication Technician or comparable credential is required; additional nursing or caregiving certifications are advantageous. Excellent communication skills combined with attention to detail and a compassionate approach to patient care.
