DSP Lead (Administrator-in-training)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated DSP Lead (Administrator-in-training) for a Level 3 Adult Residential Facility. This role involves providing direct support to residents, including assistance with daily activities, personal care, and medication management in accordance with licensing standards. The successful candidate will support resident wellness through holistic approaches that promote emotional and mental well-being, as well as encourage a plant-forward approach to healthy eating and meal planning. The position requires adherence to documentation protocols for medication administration, incident reporting, and care planning. While ARF Administrator Certification is recommended, it is not required; DSPT 1 certification is mandatory, and DSPT 2 certification is preferred. The role offers an opportunity to transition into an administrative position within 12-18 months, with a focus on fostering a safe, clean, respectful environment aligned with licensing standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily activities, personal care, medication support, and ensuring proper documentation of medication administration and resident progress. Lead and mentor direct support staff, offering guidance, training on licensing standards, medication protocols, and documentation procedures. Assist with staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for shifts. Conduct training sessions on safety protocols, medication management, documentation standards, and compliance with licensing regulations. Observe resident needs and collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans that promote emotional well-being and independence. Support residents in achieving their goals while fostering dignity and self-esteem. Document resident progress accurately in compliance with licensing standards and report any concerns promptly to supervisors or healthcare professionals. Foster a caring environment that respects residents' rights and promotes safety. Support administrative duties such as coordinating staff schedules and participating in team meetings related to licensing compliance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional caregiving or leadership training preferred. Valid DSPT 1 certification; DSPT 2 certification recommended. Experience working as a Direct Support Professional Lead in an Adult Residential Facility or similar setting. Knowledge of licensing standards related to medication support, documentation requirements, and resident rights. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills. Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism. Strong understanding of safety standards, medication procedures, documentation protocols, and holistic approaches supporting resident wellness.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
