  • Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team.
As a Medication Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely assistance with self administration of medications to residents in our care facility. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to administration schedules.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all medications administered and assist in monitoring patient reactions and side effects. Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare personnel to ensure continuity of care and effective communication regarding patient needs. Inventory and order medications as needed to maintain an adequate supply within the facility. Educate patients and their families on medication instructions, purposes, and potential side effects. Follow all legal and ethical protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained. Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on best practices in medication administration.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medication Technician is required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication administration, is preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Current CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily in a clinical or long-term care setting.
Require extended periods of standing and walking. May involve exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
