Duties Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess patient health status. Assist residents or patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, mobility support, and hygiene care. Support specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and dementia or memory care activities to promote comfort and safety. Document all patient interactions and medical procedures precisely using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner for seamless medical documentation. Observe and report changes in condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers. Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with disabilities or those requiring hospice or palliative care. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing skills such as medication administration and vital signs measurement. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia enhances your ability to deliver personalized care. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards is essential. Certification as a Medication Technician or similar caregiving credential is required; ongoing training in Alzheimer's care, hospice support, and acute care is beneficial.
