Wellness Director Summary:
2P•10P The CMA will provide residents with services in accordance with health care provider's orders regarding administration or assistance with medications and treatments, as per state regulations. The CMA will also assist in providing direct care to residents following their individualized care plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Administer and assist with resident medications in accordance with Galerie Management policies and Georgia Assisted Living Community Rules and Regulations. Ensure that all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, written orders, etc. Maintain resident charts and keep documentation current. Ensure the medication carts and medication rooms are completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, Over the Counter (OTC), and other medications as ordered by the physician. Control medication carts, medication room access, and key assignment. Communicate resident status changes to Wellness Director and families. Notify Wellness Director of at-risk residents in need of a higher level of care. Coordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmacies. Assist in updating assessments and care plans as needed. Assist in the training of care associates and participate in orientation of new care associates. Read all shift change acknowledgement notes. Oversee care plan charting by Resident Assistants. Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age and have either a High School Diploma or GED. An active CMA license with the Georgia Certified Medication Aide Registry is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Can follow written or verbal instructions. Ability to read and comprehend physician orders and resident care plans. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, residents' families, and other associates of the company. Uses good judgment in emergency situations and gets help when needed.
