Duties Deliver high-quality patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Administer medications accurately following established protocols, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and maintaining strict patient confidentiality. Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes promptly to nursing staff or supervisors. Document all care activities thoroughly using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring medical documentation is precise and up-to-date. Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health conditions through compassionate engagement and tailored care strategies. Assist with patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques to promote safe lifting practices and prevent injury. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), with current licensure where applicable. Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in long-term care facilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; experience with Hoyer lifts is advantageous.
