Responsibilities Assist residents and patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, including oral medications, injections, tube feedings, and catheter care. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings meticulously in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medical procedures by preparing supplies, maintaining sterile techniques, and assisting healthcare professionals with tasks requiring physiology knowledge and medical terminology understanding. Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; update patient records regularly to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Recognize signs of medical emergencies or changes in condition; respond promptly by notifying appropriate healthcare providers or emergency services. Provide emotional support and companionship to clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease while implementing memory care strategies tailored to individual needs. Qualifications Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments; familiarity with senior care and hospice settings preferred. Knowledge of medical procedures including medication administration, catheter care, tube feeding, vital signs monitoring, and anatomy fundamentals. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and medical records management is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations requiring acute care skills; familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus. Valid certification as a medication technician or relevant healthcare license is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held.
