Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medication administration and patient care, with experience working in nursing homes. As a Certified Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications while providing respectful and attentive care to individuals with diverse needs, including those dementia. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and patients through precise medication management and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Matrix. Monitor vital signs, observe patient responses, and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition promptly. Assist with activities of daily living, including mobility support, hygiene, and feeding for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory impairments. Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate medication schedules and patient care activities. Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Matrix for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management. Ability to work effectively with individuals with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Competence in vital signs measurement, catheter care, and other clinical skills relevant to patient care. Excellent communication skills combined with compassionate caregiving approach to foster trust and comfort among residents.
