A Medication Aide or Technician provides medication to patients in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. This role provides one pathway into licensed nursing training. May help measure and record vital signs, and assist in activities of daily living (ADLS).

Job Description

Medication Aide/ Care Partner- Assisted Living Shift 2:00pm-10:00pm or (Every Other Weekend off)

Personal Qualifications:

Medication Aides have a strong desire to relate to and work with the elderly. They possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude and portray a positive image. Medication Aides find fulfillment in building personal relationships and providing excellent office services. They are committed to doing whatever it takes to enhance the dignity in people's lives.

Professional Qualifications:

Medication Aides will have completed the Medication Administration Training Program ( provided in-house) approved by the Division of Aging. Verbal communication skills are important to carry on conversations with residents, co-workers and visitors in an understandable manner. Written communication skills are necessary for documentation. Medication Aides are willing to participate in educational sessions, inservice training, and demonstrations.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have completed the state approved nurse assistant training and Medication Administration Training Program approved by the Division of Aging . They will possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude and portray a positive image.
