  • Pay is Negotiable Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our healthcare team at Cedar Ridge Inn.
As a CMA, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents/patients, monitoring their health status, and ensuring accurate documentation. You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible for our patients while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications to patients as directed by the healthcare provider, including oral, topical, and injectable medications (if applicable).
  • Monitor and document patient responses to medications, including any side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Ensure that medications are dispensed in accordance with established protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist patients with medication management, including explaining proper medication usage and answering questions.
  • Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation in the facility's electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Report any changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing team, physicians, or appropriate medical personnel.
  • Educate patients and families on medication regimens, possible side effects, and the importance of adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
  • Ensure medications are properly stored and secured according to facility policies.
  • Assist with patient daily care needs, including mobility assistance and hygiene as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities as required.
Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification.
  • (night shift differential available)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medication Aide training program.
  • Knowledge of basic pharmacology and medication administration principles.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail in administering medications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Previous experience as a CMA or in a similar healthcare role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on patient safety.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients as necessary.
  • May require the ability to operate medical equipment and work with medications requiring fine motor skills.
