Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in administering medications, monitoring patient health, and providing essential support to residents or patients in various care settings. Your expertise will help ensure safe, accurate medication delivery and contribute to the overall well-being of individuals under your care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse health needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or hospice care. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, documenting changes meticulously in medical records or electronic health record (EHR) systems. Assist with medication management tasks. Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring all medication administration and patient interactions are accurately recorded in EMR/EHR systems. Observe and report any changes in resident condition. Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures during medication administration and patient care activities. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration techniques. Experience working with aging individuals Familiarity with medical documentation processes and electronic health record (EHR) systems is desirable. Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward seniors and individuals with disabilities Previous exposure to acute care settings or medical office environments will be considered a plus.
