Medication Technician DaySpring Assisted Living Plano, TX Job Details Part-time $14 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Patient monitoring HIPAA Assisting with ADLs Clinical documentation Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals and possess a strong understanding of patient care protocols. As a Medication Technician, you will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the well-being of residents with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory care requirements. This is a weekend position. Saturday and Sunday only 7am-3pm. Responsibilities Administer medications to residents as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs regularly to assess residents' health status. Provide support in daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate residents and their families about medication management and potential side effects. Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures as necessary. Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within the facility. Experience Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and caregiving practices is essential. Proficiency in using medical documentation systems (EMR/EHR) is highly desirable. Experience in hospice care or acute care environments will be beneficial for this role.
