In this vital role, you will provide high-quality medication administration and patient care within nursing home. Your expertise will ensure residents receive safe, timely medications while supporting their overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through attentive caregiving and clinical skills. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately to residents following all safety protocols and medical guidelines Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and responses to medication or treatments using electronic health record (EHR) Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and feeding needs. Maintain comprehensive and compliant medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and medication management for those with complex health conditions Collaborate closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care plans are followed Observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition and promptly report findings to supervising nurses or physicians Uphold safety standards by practicing proper infection control procedures and ensuring medication storage compliance Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration techniques Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as PointClick Care Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or dementia care is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Compassionate attitude with a passion for providing respectful senior and disability care Join us in delivering compassionate, expert care that enhances the quality of life for our residents!
