Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in administering medications, providing personal care, and supporting residents' overall well-being within a senior living or healthcare facility. Your expertise will help ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care while maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state and federal regulations, including medication reminders and documentation. Monitor residents' vital signs, observe for adverse reactions, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff. Assist with resident personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care. Follow proper manual handling procedures during resident transfers and heavy lifting tasks to ensure safety for both residents and staff. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs. Experience Prior assisted living or senior care experience is highly preferred. Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is advantageous. Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (CPR) is required. Knowledge of medication administration protocols including tube feeding and catheter care is essential. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms is desirable. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments like Alzheimer's disease. Understanding of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards is necessary.
