$16/hr About the Opportunity Opti Staffing Group is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate for a residential substance-use treatment program in Anchorage. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and interested in building a career in behavioral health, human services, or substance-use recovery. In this role, you will work directly with residents while supporting the clinical team and helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment throughout the recovery process. Key Responsibilities Monitor residents, daily activities, behaviors, and assigned responsibilities within the facility. Assist with resident admissions, orientations, documentation, and program-related paperwork. Support data entry, scheduling, and other administrative functions. Respond to challenging situations using approved crisis-intervention and de-escalation techniques. Observe medication self-administration and complete required documentation. Collect urinalysis specimens as directed. Assist residents with recovery assignments and step work. Provide education and facilitate group discussions as assigned. Assist with critical incident documentation and reporting. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, and a safe therapeutic environment.
Important:
This is a behavioral health position—not a security role. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with individuals in residential substance-use treatment, addressing behavioral concerns, following established procedures, and involving a supervisor or counselor when additional support is needed. At least one year of experience in substance-use services, homelessness, behavioral health, or a related field. One year of clerical or data-entry experience. Experience or knowledge related to client care in a medical or clinical environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated patience, professionalism, dependability, and appropriate boundaries. Ability to protect confidential information and follow HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. Part 2 requirements. Comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic health record systems. Valid Alaska driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing. Willingness and ability to complete required training, including medication distribution and crisis intervention. Flexibility to work at either residential campus and adjust to program scheduling needs.
