Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Swing Shift Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support and supervision to individuals with diverse behavioral health needs during evening hours. Your primary focus will be ensuring safety, implementing behavior management strategies, and assisting with patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, addiction challenges, and other behavioral health conditions. Duties Monitor and support individuals with behavioral health needs during the swing shift, ensuring their safety and well-being. Implement behavior management plans using applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and crisis intervention strategies. Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation. Conduct intake assessments, collect data on behaviors, and document medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Respond swiftly to behavioral crises or emergencies through crisis management techniques and de-escalation methods. Collaborate with social workers, special education teams, and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans. Perform vital signs checks and monitor physical health indicators as part of comprehensive patient care. Maintain detailed records of incidents, medical information, and behavioral observations to support ongoing treatment efforts. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health conditions is highly preferred. Knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management techniques is essential. Familiarity with medication administration procedures and medical terminology is required. Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards and maintain confidentiality. Strong skills in data collection, medical documentation, and record keeping are necessary for success in this role. Experience working in special education or applied behavior analysis (ABA) environments is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team are vital.
