Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) who will carry out the duties as outlined by the Executive Director and they report to the Program Managers. DSP's are expected to act with appropriate demeanor as representatives of Encore Programs Incorporated. DSP's hold responsibilities of an extremely sensitive and personal nature and as such are the most likely to first observe incidents of abuse or neglect. These duties are not taken lightly and and the DSP must exercise the utmost care to safeguard clients dignity, confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPPA, and Titles 22&17. DSPs are often the direct link in communication between Encore Programs Incorporated and a clients families, thus professional relationships between themselves as representative of our agency clients and families. Duties Maintains personal needs of clients including assisting them in toileting, feeding, cleaning, transferring, mobility and any other self help skills where the clients need assistance. Interacts with clients in ways that reinforce clients instructional, therapeutic and behavioral objectives developed by the team. Ensures safety precautions in all activities. Know emergency procedures, fire and physician contact protocols and be able to act with good common sense in working with clients. Reports significant chances in clients an or program environment. Maintains personal care needs of clients including assisting clients in eating, toileting, client hygiene, transferring clients, mobility to and from classroom.' Reinforces treatment plans. Prepares client snacks and drinks during break, assists with serving and clean up. Ensures confidentiality is upheld in regards to all information relating to clients. Accurately records daily documenttion, as needed on clients health, hygiene eating and toileting. Recognizes and reports pertinent client issues directly to program managers with immediacy and accuracy in regards to changes in clients behaviors, dress. Prepares clients lunches, snacks and drinks at appropriate times. May also be asked to assist in the activities of the program Any other duties as assigned. Skills Education equivalent to the completion of 12th grade. Deep and abiding respect for personal rights, dignity and personhood of each client. Minimum of two years supervisory experience is desired. Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in an emergency. Comfortable working with clients with intellectual disabilities and mental illness and the associated challenges requiring specialized & individualized interaction. Basic understanding of appropriate client intervention techniques.

From $20.90 per hour
