All employees must fully support the mission, vision and values of the school and must be willing to actively and enthusiastically participate in a professional learning community. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general needs and behavior of children; and know basic first aid; and appropriate safety precautions and procedures.

Key Responsibilities Supervise:

Communicate with students and motivate them to participate in learning activities Supervises classroom and outdoor playground activities to direct students into safe activities and relationships Observes activities of students and assists the teacher in maintaining order Informs the teacher on progress or problems Administers basic first aid, as needed Performs incidental housekeeping tasks, such as arranging objects, putting things away, cleaning tables, chairs, sweeping and work areas Performs related work as required Learn and adapt new procedures and conditions Apply knowledge and practices with good judgment Recognize and report hazards to safety Learn laws, rules, practices and procedures related to public education and related to the program to which assigned Understand and carry out oral and written instructions Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Other duties as assigned Requirements / Qualifications Voices Academies School Assistant candidates will have the following

Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred Able to excel in an ethnic and socioeconomic diverse inner city community
