Full Job Description About This Job:
The Peer and Family Specialist/Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant at OneMH LLC plays a pivotal role in guiding residents through their journey of substance use disorder recovery. Equipped with personal lived experiences, this compassionate individual facilitates recovery groups, provides one-on-one support, and fosters a safe environment, all while holding the necessary certifications and qualifications to inspire and guide individuals toward lasting sobriety in the sober living community.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate and lead recovery groups in a supportive and empathetic manner. Provide one-on-one peer support to residents, fostering a sense of community. Collaborate with counselors and staff to develop personalized recovery plans. Share personal experiences of recovery to inspire and connect with residents. Organize and coordinate wellness activities, workshops, and group outings. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment conducive to recovery. Offer guidance on relapse prevention strategies and coping mechanisms. Foster a sense of accountability and responsibility within the community.
Required Qualifications:
Current certification as a Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) through a Colorado BHA-approved training program (STRONG
REQUIREMENT
) High school diploma or GED Reliable transportation to travel between residential and outpatient locations Basic computer and documentation skills (training available if needed) Strong interpersonal communication, group facilitation, and emotional intelligence Ability to uphold confidentiality and practice professional boundaries Flexibility to adapt to evolving group dynamics and client needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in behavioral health, recovery housing, or outpatient treatment settings Familiarity with Medicaid documentation standards and strengths-based note writing Training in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, or harm reduction Previous facilitation of psychoeducational, behavioral health, or skills groups Core Values at
