In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being within home and community settings. Your energy, empathy, and proactive approach will help foster a positive environment where clients can thrive and achieve their goals. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and comfort. Support clients with behavioral health needs through behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies. Implement individualized care plans by collecting data on client progress, behaviors, and preferences to inform ongoing support strategies. Facilitate communication using skills such as American Sign Language or other methods to ensure effective interaction with clients who have communication challenges. Provide transportation or driving support for appointments, community outings, or errands while maintaining safety protocols. Administer medications following prescribed instructions and document medication administration accurately in compliance with regulations. Engage in social work practices by fostering social interactions, supporting emotional well-being, and encouraging community participation. Assist with childcare responsibilities when applicable, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children with special needs. Maintain detailed records of services provided, client progress, and any incidents to ensure compliance and quality care. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving in home or community settings. Valid driver's license and safe driving record for transportation duties. Experience with data collection related to client progress or behavioral observations preferred. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and documentation requirements.
