Overview Join our dedicated team as a Developmental and Disability Professional (DDP), where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives. As a DDP, you will be a compassionate advocate, utilizing your skills to enhance daily living and social engagement while ensuring safety and well-being. Duties Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, goals, and abilities. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and medication administration. Support clients in developing life skills through behavioral health strategies, behavior management techniques, and social skills training. Provide direct support during community outings, transportation in standard passenger cars, and home visits to promote independence and community participation. Utilize communication skills such as American Sign Language or other augmentative methods to facilitate effective client interaction. Monitor client progress and document observations accurately to inform ongoing care adjustments. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR certification requirements. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or cognitive disabilities is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices. Experience providing caregiving support in home or community settings, including assisting with ADLs and personal transportation assistance. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and medication administration procedures. Strong communication skills for client interaction, family collaboration, and documentation purposes. Valid driver's license with experience operating standard passenger cars for client outings or appointments. Certifications such as first aid/CPR are required; additional training in child care or medication administration is advantageous.
