Position Schedule:
Tuesday•Thursday 8:00AM•4:30PM (part-time)
Location:
Bloomington, IL Position Summary Under general supervision of the FUSE Program Manager, and in coordination with the Behavioral Health Coordinating Council Supervisor, this position performs professional social service work in the office. The FUSE Program serves those individuals, aged 18+ who have intersected most frequently with two or more high-need/high-cost systems of care within McLean County (emergency departments, homeless shelters, justice system). Work requires individuals who can maintain calm, even in stressful situations. Work follows principles of recovery, social service professional standards, and County policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides light administrative support for departmental operations, including: filing, scanning documents, answering phones and greeting departmental guests Scheduling client appointments on our EMR Assists FUSE staff and clients as needed Communicate with the public in a professional, friendly, courteous, and welcoming manner Maintain and protect confidentiality Maintains appropriate and necessary documentation Performs related work as required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Active listening skills Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, with attention to detail General knowledge of behavioral health Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations, or when others are not calm Ability to read, understand, and apply Department and County policies and procedures Ability to develop a working knowledge of the County's behavioral health services and programs and community resources Ability to empathize with individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis Knowledge of general office procedures and the operation of standard office equipment, including telephone, computer, and Microsoft Office programs Ability to interact with the public and provide information and assistance and support in a polite and efficient manner, both in person and on the telephone Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees, clients, and community members Required Qualifications High school graduation, or possession of a GED certificate Two years prior experience in a position with public interaction Preferred Qualifications Prior completion of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Social Work Experience Law Enforcement Experience Security experience Physical Demands and Work Environment This position requires activities such as sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting light to medium objects. The work is performed in a health care facility and may involve exposure to body fluid, cleaning chemicals, airborne diseases, and emotionally labile patients. Latex gloves or facial masks may be worn.
