Job Description

Job Overview The Residential Assistant provides direct support, supervision, and monitoring of clients within a residential substance use and mental health treatment setting. This position helps maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment while supporting clients in daily activities, recovery goals, and adherence to program expectations. The Residential Assistant works closely with clinical, medical, and leadership staff to ensure client safety, promote recovery-oriented care, and support overall program operations. Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesClient Support & Supervision Provide ongoing supervision and monitoring of clients within the residential facility. Conduct regular room checks, safety checks, and facility rounds. Support clients with daily living activities, routines, and program expectations. Assist with client orientation to the facility, schedules, and rules. Encourage positive coping skills, healthy communication, and recovery-focused behaviors. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients at all times. Use trauma-informed, de-escalation, and person-centered approaches when interacting with clients. Safety & Crisis Intervention Monitor for behavioral, emotional, or medical concerns and report changes to appropriate staff immediately. Respond appropriately to crisis situations, including behavioral escalation, medical emergencies, and safety concerns. Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for all clients and staff. Follow facility protocols regarding contraband searches, emergency procedures, and incident reporting. Ensure compliance with all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Documentation & Communication Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including shift notes, incident reports, observations, and client interactions. Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical, case management, and leadership staff regarding client needs or concerns. Participate in shift reports and team communication processes. Program Operations Assist with transportation, appointments, meals, recreation, and other program activities as assigned. Support housekeeping expectations and overall cleanliness of the facility. Assist with admission and discharge processes as directed. Maintain professional conduct and represent the organization positively. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, residential care, healthcare, or human services preferred. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. Basic computer and documentation skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to safely respond to emergencies and behavioral crises. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Shifts:
We are hiring part time individuals for several shifts and days/weekends. The specifics of the schedule and shifts/days available will be further discussed with an applicant during the interview process.
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour
