Job Summary Department-Specific Responsibilities Administer clinical activities of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), including review and modification of policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal compliance and demonstrate best practices Develop and implement strategic initiatives for CAPS clinical services that align with CAPS and Division of Student Affairs (DoSA) vision, mission, values, and goals Update and refine the CAPS clinical services sections of the CAPS Services manual Coordinate CAPS front end team services (i.e., initial client contacts and case management) Ensure effective implementation of group and individual clinical programming, including engaging in on-going assessment processes Ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal requirements, and best practices (i.e. provision of clinical services) Create group and on-call schedules for CAPS clinical team members Determine and assign CAPS group facilitators Oversee CAPS group marketing efforts in collaboration with relevant CAPS Program Lead team members Perform individual and group counseling Perform initial and ongoing assessments Provide crisis intervention Provide evaluation and testing (Learning Disability (LD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)) (psychologists only) Facilitate group leaders, peer consultation, and front-end team meetings Provide didactic training seminars for counselors in training Supervise the Intake specialist position) Document clinical contacts to meet professional standards of client care Provide documentation to support academic accommodations, as appropriate Participate in outreach and consultation with campus community to increase campus awareness of CAPS' services, facilitate appropriate referrals, and contribute to health and wellness promotion Participate in CAPS mental health (MH) and/or interpersonal violence prevention (IPV) awareness events Facilitate presentations for campus stakeholders on a variety of mental health/wellness topics Provide consultation to campus community regarding mental health concerns Contribute to staff meetings within CAPS Serve on division and campus-wide committees and work groups to enhance campus response to mental health and wellness concerns and support student success Engage in ongoing professional development to expand clinical skills and maintain licensure General Responsibilities Conduct individual intake assessments. Provide direct clinical mental health services to individuals, groups, and couples. Manage individual caseload so as to be able to incorporate new clients in an ongoing manner. Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes, following Quality Improvement committee standards. Adhere to relevant ethical and legal standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), relevant professional bodies, and state boards. Consult with and refer to other professionals when appropriate (e.g. psychiatrists, medical providers, and dietitians). Utilize evidence-based clinical interventions and, as appropriate, document in clinical notes. Serve on emergency response teams. Participate in active educational outreach programs. May supervise Master's level mental health students and/or career-level Mental Health Specialists. Possess ability and competencies to act independently, as a licensed mental health professional, in the provision of clinical services. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required Master's degree in a relevant mental heath area from an accredited program

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required 4 years of post-degree experience. Preferred Previous University Counseling Center (UCC) experience Experience providing clinical supervision to counselors in training and/or staff-level providers Experience with clinical program management

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire; OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire; OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Highly thorough and dependable Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Possesses a high degree of initiative Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents Demonstrates competency in multi-cultural practice Conflict-management skills Demonstrates ability to remain confidential Working Conditions / Demands This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients.
