Job Description

Lead Behavioral Health Specialist Nights - Treatment & Recovery Center 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $18.75 - $22.32 per hour. Part time (36 hours per week), non-exempt, benefits eligible. The Lead Behavioral Health Specialist will lead the BHS team in providing monitoring and supportive services in an urgent care and medical setting that serves individuals across the lifespan through a multidisciplinary and collaborative service approach. The Lead BHS position has additional responsibilities that include scheduling, task assignment, assisting in de-escalation training, and will serve as the liaison between the BHS staff members and other workforce members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
including but not limited to: Creation and maintenance of the BHS schedule to include lunch breaks, and additional breaks. Assignment of daily tasks for BHS such as: emptying dirty linen, restocking, delivering meals, delivering snacks, washing meal trays, patient laundry, room searches, vital signs, discharges, personal item inventory, and leading groups. The BHS lead is expected to help with these tasks if assigned staff is not able. Serving as the go-to person in the event urgent care needs patient assistance. Assisting with Safe Clinch and de-escalation training. Serving as support to BHS staff and a liaison between BHS staff and other workforce members. Maintaining a safe, stable, supportive, and productive environment during the time spent with patients for the purpose of stabilizing episodes of crisis. Monitoring patient safety. Providing services on an as-needed basis for attendant, psychosocial, and crisis observation. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
including but not limited to:
Required:
One year of college course work in the field of human services or one year of experience in the field of human services; or other experiences with individuals across the lifespan who experience symptoms of behavioral health and can serve a basis for understanding symptoms and treatment; a combination of at least one year of education, and/or work, and/or experience in the field of human services can substitute for a year in any one area. Reliable transportation and valid, unrestricted driver's license. Be 21 years or older. Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency; willingness and ability to learn new programs; familiarity with MS SharePoint is a plus.
Preferred:
BA in social work, psychology, or related field preferred but not required. The ideal candidate for the BHS lead position will have at least 2 years of experience working in working in acute mental health care, demonstrated leadership and de-escalation skills.
