Job Description

Therapy Assistant (part-time)
Location:
Paducah, KY Part-time:
20-24 hrs/wk Child Watch Counseling and Advocacy Center provides free mental health therapy for children and families impacted by child abuse or neglect at offices in Paducah and Benton. The Therapy Assistant position is located at the Paducah office. The Therapy Assistant will support mental health clinicians and other staff members by supervising and engaging youth in our offices for therapy appointments, and by performing clerical duties and other projects as assigned. The Therapy Assistant will work 16-20 hours per week depending on the therapists' schedule. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred but not required.
Specific duties include the following:
  • Providing assistance to clients with sign-in procedures, intake forms and other paperwork.
  • Engaging children and teens in safe, developmentally-appropriate play and activities.
  • Assisting staff with data collection and entry, file maintenance, and client communications.
  • Answering incoming office telephone calls.
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for the
Therapy Assistant:
Excellent communication skills; ability to use a computer to enter, store and retrieve data; experience in working with children of all ages; ability to move around the waiting area, lift small children, bend, sit, reach, and stand repeatedly. An Associate's Degree or higher in social work, child development or related field is preferred. Apply with cover letter and resume by August 1, 2026. EEOE.
