Job Description

Recovery Support Specialist / Group Facilitator -
Behavioral Health Location:
West Springfield, MA Pay:
$19.00-$23.00 per hour
Hours:
30-40 hours per week (hourly)
Required Schedule:
Includes Saturday shifts (9am - 2pm) and one evening shift per week (shift ends at 8:30pm). Holiday shifts voluntary with additional compensation. Northstar Recovery Center is a Massachusetts-based substance use disorder treatment provider committed to compassionate, structured, and recovery-focused care. Position Summary The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) provides day-to-day recovery support to clients and facilitates recovery-oriented and groups. This role works closely with the clinical team to maintain a safe, supportive, and structured treatment environment. Key Responsibilities Provide recovery support and mentorship to clients Facilitate assigned recovery and psychoeducational groups Encourage engagement in programming and reinforce treatment goals Maintain safety, structure, and professional boundaries Complete required documentation and communicate with clinical staff Support program operations, admissions, and discharges as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays Experience in recovery, behavioral health, or group facilitation preferred Lived recovery experience welcomed What We Offer Competitive hourly pay ($19.00-$23.00) Consistent scheduling (24-40 hours/week) Supportive, mission-driven work environment Opportunity for growth in the behavioral health field
