Behavioral Health Professional The Behavioral Health professional (BHP) provides in-home support services to clients and their families in the KidsPeace New England (KPNE) Supported Families program. The BHP provides informal counseling, behavior management, and crisis stabilization services as well as client supervision, and implementation of intervention techniques indicated on the clients Individualized Service Plans (ISP). In addition, the BHP may implement other services indicated on the client's Individualized Service Plan, including advocacy and/or support for the client/family in contacts with schools, other agencies or service providers. The position requires attendance at supervision and training, and timely maintenance of paperwork.. For Full-time BHPs, an average of 65% of work time assigned to programs using hourly unit billing needs to be billable and shall be provided by the BHP to the children and families receiving outpatient, children's behavioral health, or other services in hourly units. BHP 1

• $17.00 an hour for billable time with clients for billable hours 12 hours per week. $22.00 an hour for billable time with clients for billable hours beyond the 12 hours per week. $12.15 an hour for internal training time, supervision time. BHP 2

• $19.50 an hour for billable time with clients for billable hours 12 hours per week. $26.00 an hour for billable time with clients for billable hours beyond the 12 hours per week. $12.15 an hour for internal training time, supervision time. Education/Qualifications BHP level 1 and 2
• Must qualify for and complete the Behavioral Health Professional certification as listed in Maine Care regulation (Chapter 2, Section 65.

M.3 or subsequent revisions). Provisional certification as a Behavioral Health Professional must be obtained in the first 30 days of employment of transfer to BHP position. BHP certification must be obtained no later than 1 year from date of hire/transfer. BHP Level 1

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years' direct care experience working with children in a behavioral health children's services program with the provider required to have a specific plan for supervision and training documented in the employee's personnel file: OR a minimum of 60 higher education credit hours in a related field of social services, human services, health or education; with the provider required to have a specific plan for supervision and training documented in the employee's personnel file.

OR a minimum of 90 higher education credit hours in an unrelated field with the provider required to have a specific plan for supervision and training documented in the employee's personnel file. BHP Level 2

• BHP Level 2: Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Health Education OR Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field.

OR Staff who have been grandfathered by virtue of providing child and family community support services under the former Section 65G or Behavioral Specialist I services under the former 65H do not need to meet the Bachelor's degree requirements listed above. Valid Driver's License, reliable means of transportation with liability insurance at least to the state minimum.
